bianca has had good luck with clones. Actually, she has only tried cloning
her babies once, but met with great success. bianca reports that the key is
to use rooTone rooting hormone and plant the cuttings in vermiculite.
bianca's friends report that liquid rooting hormone is better than powder
because powder can flake off. This may be true, but powder worked just fine
for bianca.
Here are a few cloning tips:
- Cuttings should have 3 leaf nodes, and
- be at least 3-5 inches in length
- Make the cut using a razorblade at a 45 degree angle
- Remove the bottom 2 sets of leaves
- Put the stem into whatever hormone you have
- Place the cutting into the rooting medium so that the bottom two leaf
nodes are buried
- Keep the rooting medium moist.
- Spray the leaves from time to time
